Little did I know by visiting my moms best friends beauty salon, when I was eleven, would of had such an impact
on my future. As soon as I hit High School I was in the counselor’s office asking how I could graduate early, so I could obtain my cosmetology license. I had a vision in my head of a 1940 theme hair salon, with a “susie homemaker” type of feel. I received my Cosmetology license through Golden West College in Huntington Beach, CA. in 2001.

After working in salons for six years I decided to be involved in education. I was an instructor for Paul Mitchell the School for over four years. I then reached my goal and opened up “The Vintage Hair Salon” in June 2011. Since then I have taught in two other private Cosmetology Colleges and currently substitute at Toni & Guy Academy.

Fun facts, I’m an NRA handgun instructor and a “Life Coach” specializing and helping understand personalities, relationships and online dating. While working, I am currently a full-time college student with a dual major in psychology (counseling) and communication. Phlebotomist and currently working on a third (Math & Science) and forth major to be a RN with in the NICU. Currently volunteering at HOAG Hospital in Newport Beach as a COPE Health Scholar underneath UCLA.

I specialize in ladies’ vintage haircuts, such as the “Middy” (also known as the “Horse Shoe” or “U Shape”) and “Betty Bangs”. I offer a classic 1940/1950 hair style (victory rolls with curls) or a take home classic curling iron set pattern, for you to brush out and play with when you get home.

Don’t be fooled in thinking I only know vintage. I LOVE being a hair stylist and do it all, including todays modern styles. Such as ladies’ haircuts, men’s haircuts, color and dealing with stick straight, thin, thick and curly hair. Having to deal with my curly hair all my life ended up making me a better hair stylist.

I was able to established a successful clientele, because its apparent that I love my profession, getting to know my clients and their needs. I love the cozy, intimate atmosphere my salon offers. My clients have my undivided attention (no cell phones ringing or answering). I do not double book (unless requested by the client). It’s so rare now a day to have uninterrupted face to face conversation. My everyday goal is to make sure my clients know that they are respected, valued and appreciated.

...Food for thought...

"If you always do what you have always done, then you will always be what you have always been"

“Watch your thoughts, they become your words; watch your words, they become your actions; watch your actions, they become your habits; watch your habits, they become your character; watch your character, it becomes your destiny.”
